2025 - 2027
Shared Futures

The main objective of the project ‘Shared Futures - Collaborative narratives to reimagine multispecies coexistence’ by Palombar is to recreate stories that connect human communities and wildlife, deconstructing prejudices about environmentalism, as well as myths associated with various species, while promoting a deep and non-hierarchical understanding of multispecies relationships and biodiversity conservation.
It is developed in partnership with the Miranda do Douro City Council, Santa Casa da Misericórdia nursing home and the municipality's School Group, and is artistically coordinated by Nuno Preto and Gonçalo Mota. It is funded by the PARTIS & ART FOR CHANGE programme of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, BPI and ‘la Caixa’ Foundation. Its pilot phase started in March 2025 and the project may be extended until 2027.
Main goals:
Collaborative methodology and intergenerational approach
It follows a collaborative methodology in the artistic creation of content and performances, focusing on critical and reflective dialogue with local communities, which will be actively involved in the perception and reinvention of stories that have as their main stage the territory where they live. The approach is intergenerational and integrates young people aged between 15 and 18 from the Miranda do Douro School Group and elderly people from the Santa Casa da Misericórdia nursing home in this municipality.
Creative workshops
The (re)creation of narratives, based on a collaborative network of artists, scientists and communities, will be carried out through multidisciplinary creative workshops and will materialise through the creation of audio, video and text publications on a digital platform, theatrical creation and environmental cinema.
