Palombar is recruiting five young people for a unique experience in the conservation of historic heritage in France
Help to preserve the heritage and discover the unique communities and culture of this part of France with its centuries-old history. Photos: DR.
During this volunteer work camp in France, the young people will enjoy a unique experience and carry out work restoring dry-stone walls, maintaining historic paths and planting fig trees.
As well as gaining first-hand experience of the built heritage and the local landscape, participants will also have the opportunity to discover the region’s stunning sites and engage with the unique communities and culture of this part of France, which boasts a centuries-old history.
This work camp is organised by the French organisation Conservatoire du Patrimoine du Freinet, in partnership with Palombar and the association Més que Pedra, as part of a project coordinated by the association Union Rempart and funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.
REGISTRATION
Who can apply?
Young people aged between 18 and 30 from Portugal, Spain and France.
How?
Send an email with the subject line “Registration for the Work Camp – Conservatoire des Figuiers” to educacao@palombar.pt, including your full name, age and contact details, and stating your intention to take part in this work camp.
When is the registration deadline?
The registration deadline is 7 August 2026.
Once your registration has been confirmed, you will receive further information.
Will I have to pay any fees?
Registration for this work camp involves a nominal fee of €40 to cover insurance.
Travel costs (reimbursed to participants for amounts paid in advance), meals and accommodation will all be covered by the organisation.
How do I get to France?
The group of five participants recruited by Palombar will travel to France by plane, accompanied by a Palombar supervisor, who will also be present throughout the work camp to oversee the work and leisure activities.
